Great Stand, Horrible Instruction Manual

Bought this stand to go with my new Makita LS1216L. Love the stand so far but assembly out of the box was a pain. I know what your thinking...if you are buying a miter saw and stand then you should be savvy enough to build a basic stand quickly. The stand came mostly assembled with only several parts to put on. Those parts had horrible small print instructions to guide you. I like following instructions to make sure this $300 purchase is built right. I'm glad I wasn't building this on a job site where time was money!! Also knobs on top of stand rails to secure actual saw were complicated to tighten down using a spring/screw type of connection. I ended up replacing it with a bolt. But I love the stand so far, It feels solid and is a smaller compact version of the industrial/commercial duty WST-01. It's also lighter. So hurry up and buy. Just be aware of what I stated during assembly.

Decent Laptop

After buying a different laptop which had horrible audio I went to the retailer and bought this laptop primarily for the sound. It does sound good, but obviously not a boom box. The last one (different brand) was just plain horrible. This one performs well. Battery life seems to be very good. It came with a 4GB memory chip installed and there was an available memory slot so I was able to install another 2GB SODIMM, so now running 6GB. This laptop doesn't have a numlock led which is kinda weird. All in all its easy to use, keyboard is nice, mouse/touchpad is appropriately responsive, screen is bright and crisp. Has Bluetooth, which is good for transferring files. Was the only one I found with BT. Lid seems sturdy. I would recommend.

If you can assemble it, attractive and seems sturdy

I had to call in my husband to help assemble this. Usually I can do most assembly required "assembling" just fine. This required some muscle. We also broke our rubber mallet. The top and base are very difficult to connect. I ended up turning it upside down and leaning my weight on it, as the rubber mallet was just not doing it. There are, for lack of a better way of describing it, sort of male and female parts to join together. And they just don't fit easily.Same with the stools, but they had the added difficult of threading the legs through the support ring before connecting the legs to the top. That one had my husband cussing.... really did not want to fit through.Anyway, once we bought another mallet and got them all put together we like them. The directions say you can add sand to the base as a weight, but we found it really solid and not at all wobbly so we opted not to add that step. All in all for an all weather outdoor set we are quite happy with it.
