5Beware, This Thing is BIG
By Ed C.
I really didn't realize how big this thing was until I saw the boxes it came in.... This is not really a portable feeder, if you want to use it on your table saw or jointer, you'll have to disassemble it as it weighs about 150 lbs.... It has one of the widest speed ranges on the market (6.5 - 108 fpm) and the four rollers come in handy. The 1hp motor is plenty strong to climb cut. The various linkages will take some getting used to but I managed to figure out all possible combinations. It is a worthy addition to any shaper for safety's sake. Just keep in mind the size of it!

5sturdy, easy-to-use mobile base
By Christopher J. Klugewicz
Well-designed, easy to assemble, very sturdy. Makes moving the huge Unisaw/Unifence combination incredibly easy! Only quibble is that the foot pedal can strike the lower shelf of the extension table if you're not careful. Highly recommended!

5Great Mobile Base!
By James O. Andrews
I purchased this mobile base for my 10" left tilt Jet Cabinet saw. This base was built to be used on the Delta Unisaw so I had to make a slight modification to the extension by adding a 2" X2"x24", L-angle ,for the extension table legs to rest on. It works great! I looked at the Jet mobile base, and several other brands, but I liked the features of the Delta the best. For example, the rubber support feet are easily adjusted and provide a very stable, slip proof base. Then when you need to move the saw, simply push down on the swivel caster assembly and it lifts the cabinet saw and the extension cabinet all in one step. My cabinet saw and extension table weigh in excess of 550 pounds, but with this base it feels weightless almost. Also there are no lock screws to loosen and tighten like on many other types. I also liked the rectangular extension better than the "T" extension found on the Jet. Assembly was simple due to well written instructions. It only took a few minutes to assemble. Everything aligned and fit perfectly. I couldn't be more pleased. Also Delta gives you a two year warranty, but I don't think I'll need it. This is a well made, heavy gauge, piece of equipment. I really like it. Happy sawdustmaking!!

5A must have for Delta Cabinet Saws
By A Customer
It was a breeze to put together. Took maybe an hour of my time to assemble it, detach the MDF table from by saw and re-attach the MDF table after the saw cabinet was in place on the mobile base. Very solid welded construction. In my basement shop, it allows me to locate my 36-955 Unisaw anywhere I need to, and in the tight space I work, that's a huge plus.

If your saw is already assembled, you'll need to detach the MDF extension table and steel legs from the saw cabinet before you try to get the saw onto the mobile base. This isn't a big deal at all. Of course, have someone with you to lift the saw cabinet onto the base. There might be ways to prop up the cabinet on slabs of wood but I wouldn't risk dropping your saw and breaking the castings in the cabinet. Just get a strong body to help you.

The saw fit perfectly in the assembly. The base was easy to level. The lever that you step on to lift one end of the base (to make it 'mobile') is easy to use. Once on all three wheels, the saw can be moved around easily by just one person. Flip the lever back and you're back on solid (immobile) ground again. One reviewer mentioned that the lever hit the lower side shelf on saws so equipped. That's true, but not an issue for me at all.

So, if you'd like to add some flexibility to your Unisaw, this is a great way to do it.

4Tough Drill DW120K
By R. S. Jones
The Long Haul review: It is now 2011 and I have owned this drill since 1998. It has given me great service. As a residential electrician and contractor is has made me quite a bit of money. The drill has cut well over an estimated 25,000 holes in 2x10 joists and 2x4 studs. It has performed beyond its design and ratings by powering 3- 1/2" self-feed bits through doubled 2x10 southern yellow pine. Mine has reverse and the mechanical variable speeds. The die cast angle housing and collar is superior to Milwaukee's version in that it won't come loose and twist on you. It's quite a little monster workhorse. I can't give it 5 stars because it has some drawbacks. Trigger variable speed would be nice because starting a 4 inch hole saw can become a bit brutal and hairy if you don't hold the drill so it will torque away from you shoud the bit become jammed. It's all or none, in or out. Secondly, due to its design I cant get it into as close of quarters as I like, but I see that there is now a Dewalt available with a design that is closer. Mine has only been service once, by me, for a cord changeout. Parts seem to be readily available from Dewalt. I expect the trigger to go sometime (no matter what brand, if you use it a lot the trigger is usually the first to go behind the cord.) Trigger is $35.00 online. Comforting to know I can get service parts.

5Power!
By Tron H
Very nice drill. Lots of power. 360 degree rotating right-angle head is super! Used it to drill out rivets in a ball joint with a 1/2" Cobalt bit. Only thing I could find that would fit under my car. Only problem with this drill is that its variable speed by switching the head from low speed to high speed (mechanical not electronic variable), the trigger is on/off only. It'll also come in handy when I need to drill thru studs, joists, or floors.

5Powerful and sturdy.
By raybo
Great tool. Bought it refurbished and it performs like new. Very strong and sturdy with robust carrying case. With good wood boring bits, this drill plows right through the floor and wall joists. Bought it from CPO via Amazon and I recieved it in two days in the middle of Christmas rush. Wow!

5Heavy Duty Contractor Grade Drill
By A Customer
I purchased this model instead of the cheaper DeWalt 3/8" drill because I wanted something to handle the abuse I will give it. Used it to build a very large wooden outdoor fort and swingset for my boys and loved it. Had no problem with using 1 1/8" spade bit to drill counterbores. Plenty of power.

5Great Electric Drill
By B. Allen
This drill is a great drill. There are definetly cheaper drills out there, but if you want a variable speed drill from 0-1200 RPMs this is the drill for you. There is a lot of torque. The cord is heavy duty along with the chuck. The only thing I think could be improved on is the reverse switch. It can be easily bumped to reverse the drill direction and it is also small. That's a minor complaint for an outstanding drill.

4A Great Value
By Beau Considine
First, the rack & pinion design of the fence makes this a very stable and accurate tool. It is powerful and the grip and switch location is convenient. When used without the vacuum attachment, this machince shoots the chips right at the operator. However I always use a vacuum attachment because I don't like having all those chips all over the shop anyway, so this is not a serious draw back. The Porter Cable which is priced competitively offer a smaller blade option for face frame construction but the handle is awkward and the fence is sloppy. This tool works great. It is accurate, dependable and easy to use. You could buy a more expensive tool and get a greater degree of refinement but if all you want is a dependable tool that does its job well. I recommend this. If you cut biscuit joints all day long you may want a quieter tool. If you only make a few pieces of furniture at a time, you will be probably be glad you saved the money.

5Jekyll and Hyde?
By Richard Tyler
I read a couple of negative reviews here of this tool, and Ican only conclude that they did not buy the same machine I did. Ibought mine when they first came out (five years ago?).... Everything was square and true right out of the box.

Since I wear hearing protection with ALL power tools I cannot comment on how loud it is. (My ears don't ring all the time, either.) The dust bag, as is usual with all dust bags, doesn't work and I haven't used it since the first try. The shop vac does the trick.

It has worked flawlessly on everything from positioning slats in a headboard (OK, I could have used mortise-and-tenon joints, but there were a LOT of slats) to attaching edging to plywood, to table-top glue-ups. The only biscuit failure I've had was when I tried to use it to attach the aprons to the legs on a children's play table. Some places NEED better joinery!

I am a little confused about the other reviews talking about the machine dumping dust on your feet. Mine has a swiveling plastic nozzle that I direct to the side when I cut without the vac. It seems to work fine. Have they changed this design lately?

... it, it seems like a bargain. The Lamello is unbelievably expensive (at least for a hobbyist), the Porter-Cable seems like a nice tool (that I have not tried yet), but the DeWalt seems like the value champ.

5Buy For Your Needs
By Pablo
This tool was a great buy for me: I needed a plate joiner for occassional use, one that cuts square and is accurate in its settings; It has done a beuatiful job each time. It is loud, the dust bag is not worth the trouble, its a fuss to get it back in its carry-box and setting the the x and y depth coordinates precisely takes extra care. Once set, it does stay put.

Where your money is better spent if you do a lot of this work is with a high end tool. The Lamello is a silkier setup at a much bigger price: but you make up the cost on time and hassle savings.

For my purpose, I'd buy the DeWalt again.

5exceeding my expectations
By John G Kassel
I am actively involved in timber framing for myself, and have been looking for the right mid-sized circular saw for a while. I came dangerously close to ordering the Milwaukee 10-1/4" until I read a very helpful review on this site about the paper thin foot that easily bent. I already own a 16-5/16" Makita, and it is a beast, with a maximum 6-1/2" depth of cut at 90 degrees. I needed a saw that could cut 3" deep---this saw is advertized at 2-15/16", and it does every drop of that! The foot is extruded aluminum, about 1/8" thick, very stout. This saw feels no different than a normal 7-1/4" to me. The depth adjustment knob is fantastic, and the angle adjustment is a breeze. Be sure and check it when you first get your saw though. Mine was off almost two degrees. This saw will rip 3" thick SYP with the blade that comes with the saw! It is as strong as you would ever need it to be!...

5DeWalt 8-1/4 Power Saw
By Rosalyn E James
Simply put, this saw has a lot of power and is great for framing and ripping 2x4's. I used this saw to rip 3x10's and it handled the job with ease. I would have to recommend this saw over the 7-1/4 types. If you only can afford one saw, this is the one to buy. 7-1/4 inch type saws are lighter and easier to handle all day long, but they won't cut like this one. I own both types of saws and I usually go for the 8-1/4. They really should make a case for this thing. Mine didn't come with a case. I have to pull the blade guard back in order to store it in the 7-1/4 saw case. The 7-1/4 saw now sleeps on the floor.

5Power Power Power
By G. Singer
I had several saws before , but this time I decided to spend the bucks and buy a good one that would be worth fixing if the bearing went out. Well this is everything I thought it would be and more, The only draw back is that this baby has some weight to it, My wife helps out alot and she complained the firest time she picked it up so if your not a strong arm person , this is not the saw for you. keep in mind the 8 1/4 blades are not cheap when they can be found , but you can use the 7 1/4 if the size is not in demand.
