3A good value, but not the best deal.
By dogbeardbirdbeer
I own a 22-44" Performax machine.*I bought 35' wraps from Peachtree through Amazon for $17 + shipping. That works out to be 3 strips per roll at $5.67 each. The product above works out to be $7.71 per roll. I prefer the free/prime amazon shipping rates but the Peachtree deal is ultimately cheaper and affords a smaller business or hobbist the ability to obtain a variety of grit on a smaller budget.**I've yet to compare quality of grit-glue-paper but the generic stuff looks and feels about the same. The official product has color coded lines which are a convenience. You'll want to use and old piece of paper as a template or lay out some lines on the shop floor for future reference. Please let me know if you've found a better price per roll deal.***I'd like to mention that there's no better way to make your sandpaper and lungs last longer than to set up the best dust extraction system possible.Use renewable materials and use conservatively!Happy woodworking.

5Better way to go for this type of sandpaper
By Richard H.
This is the best way to go for this sandpaper. Much more cost effective then buying the individual stuff.Lasts a pretty decent length of time (I haven't actually noted times on my uses) but I don't seem to got through it very fast. The finer the grit the faster I go through it. I have some 220 that I find I use faster then the 60 grit for example.I keep the sandpaper clean with an erasure type sandpaper cleaner.Buy the big stuff and save a bunch

4Effective, but burns on some woods
By J. Mikkelson
I couldn't believe that there were still no reviews on this item, which I have been using in my one-man shop for several years now on a Performax 16-32. Overall, it's a great option. Cutting is straightforward, using the color-coded lines for your particular drum, though I think there is a dark green line that can be easy to mistake for the black one, which is "my" line. The main problem I have with this is its tendency to develop "hot spots" -- especially on woods such as cherry, with its pitch pockets -- and then proceed to leave a burn line the length of the board as the burn problem snowballs. Once the paper burns, that's it for that spot. You can scrape/chip the burned resin off the drum, but I still mark the spot in pencil on my sander so I don't send something across that spot again. Since I do a lot of rail/stile kind of widths, I can get away with that, but if you were going to use it for lots of wide panels, it could be a different problem entirely. The only remedy I have found, and it's not 100%, is to take *extremely* light passes at a fairly high feed rate.In practice, the paper produces a near-finish quality on woods like mahogany and oak, which can hide finish imperfections fairly well. On maple, walnut, and cherry, particularly dense areas around knots, etc., it leaves very visible straight line scratches that take a good bit of RO sanding at 150-180-220, or a good cabinet scraper, to remove. (If you use a scraper after using this, I would hit the surface with RO at 180 or 220 briefly, and blow or vacuum off the dust, or the residual abrasives from this paper will dull the burr on your scraper in a hurry!) I still think this is a better solution than going to the RO sander straight from the planer, but it can be a board-to-board thing.A side benefit of this kind of abrasive is that, once I need to pull the old one off my sander, it is easy to tear the less worn sections into hand-held size pieces (I usually go about 5" long, and the roll is about 3.5" wide) and use for hand sanding, especially profiles, where the stiffness of the resin/fabric backing is a plus. You can generate some serious heat in a hurry this way, though, so go easy, or wrap your thumb / fingers -- it really is that hot.Overall, a good bet, and it will last you a long time. I'm just finishing my first roll after several years and many, many hundreds of BF through it.

5Works great
By omar
It works great with my 25"powermatic drum sander. Usually it will last for more then 1k bf of sanding without having to replace it. As far as the colored marking cuts I have no idea how they come up with that, it makes no sense.

5Very economical way to buy sandpaper strips for drum sander.
By Astroguy
These jet strips are marked for cutting, depending on the size of your drum sander. It seems like an economical way to buy these rather expensive strips. Great product.

4very nice
By Philip A. Dimercurio
If you want to take a lot of wood off your project, this is the stuff. Load up both drums of a dual drum sander with this and you can take it down quick. It doesnt last as long as the purple stuff, but that only come in 50 grit, so...

5I wish everything was this good
By Toolpig
The SLS 20 is much like the SLP 20 brad nailer. Pretty powerful for its size and very smooth in operation. It doesn't have as much power as the larger SKS staple gun which uses the same staples but weighs a lot more. In its favor the SKS will consistently sink 1 1/2" staples into hardwood all day long. The SLS fits into smaller spaces though so It's somewhat a trade off . Nevertheless Other mini 1/4 inch crown staplers don't compare. They don't have the same power and they don't fire with the same super smooth action. They also seem to recoil more which is a bother. If you've ever shot 18 GA. staples you know it doesn't take much to turn them into a pretzel. Any nail or screw behind your work surface will make quick work of these little fasteners. This gun is very easy to deal with in this situation. Just flip the EZ clear lever and you're back in business. Top it off with an adjustable depth of drive and oilless operatin and you have the best small 1/4" crown stapler in the industry.

2Bit of a disappointment
By A Customer
I own a Senco FP25XP brad nailer and have been extremely satisfied with it - so when I decided to purchase a narrow crown stapler, I chose Senco again. My two options were the SLS20 (this one) or the SKS-L. The SLS20 was less expensive and reviewers here gave it good ratings so I ordered the SLS20.

When I received it, however, I was a bit disappointed. The cushion grip is not moulded like on the FP25, but is a piece of foam rubber wrapped around the handle and glued. And because of the way it's wrapped, it's unconfortable in your hand. Probably won't take very long before it begins to come unglued and looks all ratty.

The second disappointment was that the unit will not drive one inch staples into maple - it leaves the head proud by about 1/16. I checked the pressure on my compressor and it's in spec. The unit will drive 3/4 inch staples into maple.

The third disappointment was that the unit did not come with a case, even though Amazon advertises it as shipping with a case.

The fourth disappointment was when I found the SLS20 at a much lower price at a major home improvement store.

Overall, I'd recommend buying the SKS-L, or if you can tolerate the reduced power, go with a lower priced Senco stapler.

I returned the SLS20 and ordered the SKS-L. While the SKS-L has its own problems, it does have the power that the SLS20 is lacking.

5Smooth
By Ed C.
I've used this stapler quite extensively around the house and it has performed flawlessly. No jams, very smooth operation. Nothing more to say, this is the cream of the crop as far as narrow crown staplers go. It's worth the extra money.
