4highway patrol warning is annoying
By Carl
pros:great scanner for the price, once you finally have all your frequencies saved it works well. very durable unit that will give you years of use will little to no trouble. allows 25 frequencies off your choice to be stored. you can store 100 if you are saving in a particular band of frequency's, IE 2 meter or police band. green screen is easy on the eyes.cons:by far the highway patrol warning feature. when the unit is turned on it emits a very loud beep 3 times as it tests the alert feature. i really wish this could be disabled, after the unit has tested you can mute the alert but it only lasts until the scanner is shut off. it does not have alpha numeric labeling like the new scanners on the market do, an example would be instead of 155.5950 it you could make it say duluth pd.if you don't need 11m citizens band coverage the bct-350x series scanner will work well for less. they don't have the alert feature so you don't deaf when turning the scanner on. if you are going to be using this in your vehicle make sure you check state laws as most do not allow scanner in vehicles unless you are a ham. also the included dipole window antenna is useless. a cheap scanner 2m antenna from radio shack will really increase the performance and makes a worthwhile purchase, if using as a base antenna a simple long wire antenna can be made or a discone antenna can be used. the higher the better and outside makes a big difference.[...]

1review of bear-tracker
By robbie
This is the first bear tracker I have seen that did not come set up for 12 volt.(And, I was not informed of this by the seller.) I had to buy a converter. For the first week I used it, it never alerted at all. Then after one week it stopped working altogether. I will never buy used electronic items through Amazon again. I tried, unsuccessfully, to get some kind of return label for this item. It is currently sitting in my garage.Robbie, Glendale, Arizona

5One of the best scanners I've ever bought...
By P. Paulson
I've had my BCT7 for 15 years now. Still works great with the exception of the LCD having some issues due to being in my truck when it was cold out, but I can get a replacement if it gets bad enough. I love it, it complements my collection rather nicely....and if it ever does bite the dust, I'll go the next step up, which is the BCT8 right now. Uniden has always made the best scanners!

4Great TV set and really good Image but!
By Rodolfo Rubio Mtz
For starters is a great looking TV (on the outside), looks great in the living room, your wife will not whant to hide it in the closet and most important it looks super great with a DVD player, I just traded my old 50" for this set and on the old set there was hardly any difference betwen the way my DSS system looked and the way my DVD looked, on the new set there is a whole world of difference. I had some friends ask me if this is HDTV. BUT! one thing I really hated about it was that it has a Video out but not a tunner out, so when I hook it up to my A/V receiver, if I whant to watch regular TV I have to use 2 remotes, one to set my A/V to TV and the other one to set the TV to TV, can you belive that? , my old system 1989 model had a Tunner out! , some body at Sony was sleeping on the Job. Besides this small fall back its a great TV and people will say "wasnt projection TV supposed to looked bad! "

great value buy it!

4Good value for the cost
By James Kinsley
I found the Sony KV-53S65 53" Projection TV to be the best value among similar size projection TV's. I compared the Sony against comparable RCA, Toshiba, and Phillips models. The Picture was much sharper than other models. I found the Red, Green, and Black colors to be more pure than more expensive Phillips and RCA models. I realy like the front S-Video input for easy hookup of my DVD. I also especialy enjoyed the layout of the remote control compared to RCA remotes I have used previously (The buttons were not layed out logicaly on other remotes I have used).

5A great TV!
By James Clark
This TV has a great picture quality. The picture is great. The sound is awesome. Eventhough it is very expansive for a TV but if you have the money, this is great TV to own. If the lights are out and your watching a movie on this TV it feels like you are at a movie theater.

5Buy one now- while you still can!
By L J Fox
I have two older model Walkmans and I dropped both of them by accident and the cassette tape player feature no longer works. To my surprise, when I went to several local stores, I couldn't find a similar Walkman for sale. I guess with the i-Pods and other new technology, the tape players are being phased out. I bought a newer model Sony Walkman at Target and the sound quality of the tape was so awful I took it right back. These players that only use one battery have terrible sound quality I've found. The FM radio stations had terrible reception, too.

I found this Sony WMFS499 Sports Walkman for sale here on Amazon.com and purchased it and I love it! Since I use my Walkman for walking and running, I need a durable player that can withstand being dropped and getting damp in the rain, and the case on my new player seems indestructible. The sound quality of both the FM radio and tape player are fantastic! I decided to buy another one to have as a spare in case I lose this one. That sounds kind of crazy, but having a good tape player for exercise is important to me and I don't want to ever risk being without my Sports Walkman.

5Classic Sports Walkman
By William P. Dingell
Bought this because my previous Walkman died after many good years of service. Nothing lasts forever and my old one took many a bump and drop. So I approximated this model would be a good replacement. I was right. It's a nice heir to the line of Sports Walkman's. Like the clasp, the lap counter is a nice feather and the mega bass really helps with the right music. This is a fine product. You will not be disapponted.

4Good quality, but the radio...
By Coolio
This walkman is awesome! It's sound is un-matched! The headphones are really cool! The only problem with it is that the radio stations do not play very well. I have to constantly move the walkman around to get a good perception. If you don't care about the radio feature, but need to play your tapes, go for this one!

2A real clunker
By jnovak
Don't be fooled by the word "Sports" in the name. This is an unwieldy item not suitable for use during running or walking. I was particularly disappointed because my last Sony Sports model was small, lightwieght, and survived my less than gentle handling for 5 years. Too bad they broke the mold.

5Best walkman on earth
By Candace Scott
If you are a jogger/runner, this is the walkman for you. After ruining several other "regular" walkmans, I broke down and bought the Sony sports walkman. It doesn't eat your cassette tapes, wear out the batteries too quickly, and allows for consistent tape play back while running. It is a little more money than other walkmans, but worth every penny. You will never need to buy another walkman to run with again.

This unit is awful. It is heavy and the aluminum piece flops out uncontrolably (it doesn't stay latched down). This is not like some of the models you may have seen in the stores. Do not waste your money on this walkman!

4Simple, affordable...a good choice.
By A Customer
If you survey reviews for multi-CD players like this one, you may find many horror stories of discs falling around inside when the players go wrong. I didn't find any complaints for this unit, no stories of rampant lemons, and the price was good, so I made the leap and bought it - upgrading from a 5-CD player to this 100-CD model. I've had it for about a month and am pleased. I have several different brands of CD-Rs in it and they all play fine. The discs change faster than I expected (having been warned that these kind of units tend to be slow), and the changer, while not quiet, is not particularly noisy. The random mode is wonderful - that's the reason to buy a unit like this; it is like your own radio station - and from what I can tell, it plays 100 songs and then stops. This is good, since if you fall asleep with it playing, you probably don't want to wake up eight hours later to discover it's been going all night. 100 songs in a row is several hours - perfect for an evening. The fiber optic output really does have more clarity - it was a subtle difference, but I finally understood some lyrics that had always been a mystery to me.

No complaints about this unit except for some internally placed amber LED lights that flash on and off when the disc is changing. Soon as I can, I'm going to get some black electrical tape and cover those flashies over. Also, I couldn't get the universal Pioneer remote control to control this CD player, so I ended up just using two remotes.

Another benefit of having a 100 CD player is you can include some of your CD singles. Myself, I never listened to my CD singles because it was a pain to load one disc up for only a couple songs. But when they are part of a 100 CD mix, suddenly the singles have a real purpose. If you have a bunch of singles, and are concerned you'd fill up the 100 slots too fast, nothing would stop you from burning a bunch of your singles onto one CD (if you have a CD burner in your computer); using random play, you'll hear tracks you haven't heard in a long time.

5This is the one!!!
By A Customer
Pioneer PD-F908 File-Type Compact Disc Player

I have been slowly overhauling my home entertainment system and decided it was time to upgrade my compact disc player. My new A/V receiver doesn't have the capability of connecting via remote to my reliable Technics SL-PC14 5 Disc CD Player that I have been using for 12 years. I was getting tired of having to get up and manually doing everything that a remote does. I was originally going to upgrade with another 5 disc CD player, but I didn't realize how low the prices for the CD jukebox changers were. For the amount of CD's they hold and all of the functions they are capable of I decided this was the direction I wanted to go. I had my eye on a 300 disc changer but heard too many negative reviews about the system. It won't play the first track on CD's, it skips while playing tracks or won't even play CD's at all. CD's have been dropped and fallen into the back of the machine, breaking them, jamming the machine and rendering it unusable until it was taken apart and the broken CD's removed. Although it had a lot of nice features and is a very attractive machine it didn't seem worth the risk to me.

My wife and I have over 730 CD's and every single one plays without skipping in our Technics disc player. So buying replacement CD's is not an option. Therefore I went back to the drawing board. I didn't want the issues or complications that a jukebox CD changer had the potential to have. I would rather have a machine with no frills that is dependable than have one that is always giving me problems and ending up not being worth the hassle, and wishing that I had never bought it. So the plan was to just go with another 5 disc changer. After browsing through a store one day looking at the CD players I happened across the Pioneer PD-F908. Once again my curiosity was peaked. The thought of having so many CD's instantly at my disposal wanted me to give this type of CD changer another look. Pioneer has a solid reputation. It was only 20 dollars more than the 5 disc player I was planning on buying. Plus it holds 101 CD's giving me access to 96 more at my fingertips. I went home and did some research on this unit and after a few days of deliberation I decided I would give it a try.

This is the first Pioneer product I have ever bought and it will not be the last. For the price this is a wonderful machine. When I got it home and was taking it out of the box I felt like a kid on Christmas morning. It is easy to set up, easy to use, and fast, changes disc's in 10 seconds. It is also shorter than the larger capacity jukeboxes, which makes it easier to store in smaller entertainment centers. The PD-F908 has played every single CD I have put into it without fail. Every function has worked flawlessly. The remote is small and simple. Here are a few of it's features:

CD-DECK SYNCHRO jackOptical digital output jackSingle loader slotAll, Single and Custom modesBest, Previous and Hi-Lite functionsFast Forward/Reverse Jogging modes and Random Play

Having over 730 CD's a 300 or 400 disc player wouldn't hold them all anyway. I am glad I went for with the PD-F908 instead of the others with larger capacity. I have not regretted purchasing this product for a second. If you are looking for a reliable, inexpensive CD jukebox changer you have found it.

4CD Roulette 101
By R. Gorham
Pioneer makes a good "basic" unit here. A somewhat bulky black box... remember, it holds up to 101 cd's standing upright. Limited features: 3 group files to program your cd's into... not enough for me. If my kids have one file, my wife has another one, that leaves me with ONE file for my many moods (classic rock, metal, oldies, jazz, etc). My next cd player will have more of these group files. This unit has a nice feature in the "Best" button - letting you program up to 20 of your favorite tunes and making them play at the touch of one button after you turn the power on. It has the standard (repeating) random button. The display on the PD-F908 is average... track # (where the cd sits in the roulette rack, track/song #, and time (no 'reverse' time to let you know how much time is remaining on the song - bad for making home recordings). Along with more group files, my next cd player will have cd text. I like knowing what's playing, and not have to revert back to the cd cases or the piece of paper I usually have them written down on. Overall a good unit and super price (consider what you are getting for the $$$) from a well-known maker... as "basic" as it may be.

5Compact, reliable, great battery life
By E. JOHNSON
I couldn't be much happier with this unit. Where it really shines is in battery life. I've used this in various 4x4 competitions and my teammates use some much larger, clunky handhelds that require 10 batteries and eat them up quick (several sets in a weekend). I use 6 nicads in my midland unit and they last and last.

Its a pretty decent mobile unit too with the adapter. With an external antenna the range is tremendously improved. My only real complaint is that I wish that there was a way to lock the backlighting on when using the car adapter - this would make it easier to use at night.

5compact and versatile
By A Customer
This is a very compact, well designed, and versatile unit that can be easily moved from one vehicle to another or used as a handi-talkie. The number of useful features and sensitivity of the receiver pleasantly surprised me. With an external antenna, I found the NOAA weather band usable with broadcasts 50 miles distant and the CB effective at five miles. Adjacent channel selectivity is quite good. Perhaps the only limitation in this unit is the relatively low audio output that might require near maximum volume when the windows are open at highway speeds. But, audio quality is very good with no distortion even at maximum volume.

5Full Feature, great price
By A Customer
All the complaints I've read about this scanner are pretty pointless. This is the best Hand Held scanner I've ever owned. Go to Sears or Best Buy, see what HH CB's they have in, Probably just one, the Cobra 37 ST. Does that have channel scan, 5 memories, memory scan, freq. display, REAL mobile adpater not just a car power cord, NOPE. How much do they want? $40 in Best buy, and get this, $79.99 in sears, check their website.

The problems with range come with any handheld. I dont see the problem, take any hand held in a car and its range will go way down, But midland is only company that provides you with an external antenna hookup/power cord combined and make your radio the size of most mic's, you cant go wrong. The best you'll get from others is a DC power cable, but no way to connect an external car antenna to it. and they will still be full length.

You could also MOD this unit to pick up 120 channels CB (all you need to do is solder one connection...) if your more experienced, you can mod it to pick up 400 channels (dont believe me, try a search engine and type "Midland CB Mod"...

This scanner is the BEST on the market, and I cant belive the price. Would be nice if it has USB/LSB but hey, you cant get everything. It covers all the bases.

This is by far the best tv I've ever purchased. It has an extremely clear picture and a 2 tuner picture in picuture so that you don't have to miss anything. It has all the imputs you could ever possibly need- 3 composite (1 Front,) 2 S-video (1 front,) 1 composite (back,) and 2 r/f's (back.) It also has a very nice universal remote. This tv has it all, so you should buy it already!

4Go For It
By James DBH
I have the latest model, the KV-27FV17. I suddenly had to replace my 1991 Sony KV27V75 when it passed away. I really considered no other brand but Sony. Picture quality was important and I knew that Sony would deliver. But sound quality was critical as well. The FV series has superior speakers and sound as compared to the FS series. The only thing I do not like is the remote control. If you are over 40, get out your cheaters -- you will have a difficult time reading this remote. Also of note is that even though this TV has two S-video inputs, one of them is in the front. And I am not crazy about the styling - gray color and a larger cabinet than my old Sony - but it's the way most manufacturers are going these days. All in all, you can't lose with this TV. Plus, there's something about that SONY logo on the set that makes one feel a bit superior.
