7/9/12 - 1pmFirst I have to say that the shipping and delivery took exactly 12 days, Amazon estimated delivery was saying 3 weeks???When the 2 boxes came ( I bought 2, my place is 1428sqf ), they were all banged up very very bad andI was scared that they were damaged.When my roofer opened the boxes this morning at 7am the head of the turbines were perfect but the bottoms were indeed very curved and banged by the bad UPS job.( UPS has been very bad for me the last 3 big purchases that I made, they either dropped the boxes too many times and broke the content or didn't know my address and delivered it to a different address. after multiple calls I ended up knowing the real address UPS delivered it to and it was a block away from my house?????????).To come back to the turbines, my roofer said that, as they were in aluminum they were easy "foldable" and can be fix easy.I think Lomanco should be more careful on their packaging and change the way they ship their stuff, it may be broken easy.So it took 3 hours to install 2 14" Turbines Black.(And from the roof of the building the 14" were the biggest one of all, when everybody else used 12"...)One turbine head did not turn very easy when I was pushing it with my hand and the other one was very loose and was turning forever... which is good. more they turn more they do the job.I was concerned and added some special lifetime grease from Germany named "Wurth" that I had and it got better.Once installed, they are at +1 foot from the roof so they can catch the wind very easy and both were turning like crazy...At this time I was very happy and could not wait to take the temperature under my roof to see what my investment brought me!Yesterday in San Diego at 3pm, peak heat, it was under my roof = 105.2F (82F out) and now it went down to 85F !!!!!!Now I am very very happy, my roof does not feel congested and heavy air as before...( I did not have any ventilation before, and my roof is flat).I looked online for roof turbines reviews thinking somebody is going to say how many degrees I can save after install and nobody says anything about it? why? it is the main point of having a turbine.... To have a cooler place...So please Amazon customers... tell us how many degrees you have saved, so other people can purchase those great turbines.OlivierRum Cake Lounge.

Would buy again

I replaced two of the turtle vents I had with these. The old vents had a larger footprint so I needed to replace some of the roof shingles. On a new installation you would not have to do that. I am very happy with the quality of the product. They spin in even the slightest breeze. My father has a different brand and his do not spin as much as this one. I would highly recommend this product.

Key Layout Problems Fixed

In Microsoft's previous design of their Natural Elite keyboard, they attempted to decrease the footprint size of the keyboard by rearranging the cursor keypad along with the PAGE UP/DOWN, HOME/END, and DELETE/INSERT keys. This unfamiliar and unnatural key arrangement caused problems for many users. Now the original standard arrangement has been restored. Yes!

New with this keyboard is a massive row of programmable shortcut buttons along the top. Many of them replicate your web browser's buttons like back/forward, stop, and so on. Others are quick launch buttons for applications like e-mail, web browser, and the calculator. The calculator is probably the most useful shortcut button because it would normally take four mouse movements to launch the calculator from the Accessories Programs Start Menu folder. Believe it or not, the calculator launch button is right above the numeric keypad--good deal!

Another bonus feature of this keyboard is the common shortcut keys printed on the front edge of the respective keys. The CTRL key has a star-like symbol next to it, and you'll find the same symbol printed on the front of several keys like C, X, and V with the shortcut names "Copy", "Cut", and "Paste". These cues are good for helping users learn the keyboard shotcuts to eliminate slower mouse movements.

What's left to improve on? Well, how abot a set of buttons that correspond to the common buttons found in every window? There's the minimize, maximize/restore, close, and scrollbar up/down/left/right. Arrange these buttons on the keyboard in a layout that represents their visual arrangement on screen.

The keys are responsive and fast, but they still seem to lack a feel that provides good tactile feedback for fast typists. Good keys tend to spring back quickly and have a definite threshold point and resistance level; this is more commonly found in more expensive keyboards. I prefer the feel of some Hewlett Packard keyboards I've used that ship with their high-end workstations/servers--other people probably have different tastes for keyboard feel. Overall, the feel of the Microsoft keyboard is comfortable and quiet, but maybe they will work on the keys a little more in a newer model.

The best ergonomic keyboard on the planet.

As I write this review from work I wish I were using Microsoft's Natural Keyboard Pro. I bought two last year and gave one to my aunt; if it were possible to fall in love with a keyboard, then this thing would steal my heart.

The Natural Keyboard Pro is the true successor to the original Natural Keyboard; forget about the Keyboard Elite. This board sports 19 multimedia "hot keys" that launch browsers, refresh web pages, and much more. There are connectors for USB and PS/2 ports; Microsoft recommends plugging the keyboard into both ports although you can use whatever port you want.

Key response is good without feeling mushy and the built-in wrist rest is good for those users who like to relax theirs wrists at the bottom of the keyboard. The IntelliType software that ships with the keyboard is version 1.0; users of America Online will want to download the patch for compatibility with AOL's 5.0 software.

I like Microsoft's latest keyboard. It's a good, sturdy keyboard with cool features that are really useful. Users with small hands might need some time to get used to the board's rather large layout; even still the Natural Keyboard Pro is proof that if Microsoft quit the software business tomorrow they'd have a great future in hardware.

This is the best Keyboard

This keyboard came with my new Dell computer. It was such a good buy I would of payed any price for it. This keyboard has a nice hand rest so your hands never get tired. The mutimedia keys on the top make it even better you have buttons to browse through the web (for example back,stop...) you can contol the sound so you don't have to take your hands off the keyboard to crank up the volume. You can even change a CD track in the touch of a button. I even set up the Mail button to start up Aol. The only other thing I can say is BUY THIS KEYBOARD.

Epson 610 lives up to expectations

Went the HP route first. Couldn't get it to work. Tried everyting. Punted! Bought the Espson and fired it up on the 1st try. Have had it for about 3 months now and coupled with an HP p1000 printer, I can duplicate, and I mean duplicate pictures. Scaned a professional 8x10 of my little boy to near perfection. The Twain software is great. Only down side is at times I need to place some thick stock paper behind the picture so I don't scan "through" it. I am now putting photo archives in the computer weekly. Very simple to use and quick. Great to be able to adjust BPI from 300 to 2400 based on what you want.

Simple set-up. Great quality scans

A scanner was my first requirement after getting my iMac--needed to put pictures out to relatives. This scanner set up easily w/o any glitches. I was scanning within 5 minutes after taking it out of the box. The quality of the scanned pictures is great, even on low scan settings. I've received compliments from friends on the quality of the softcopy pics. There is also a few software packages included, but I haven't found them all too useful yet: maybe I'll learn what they'e good for. Bonus was two free software programs from mail. I'm happy with my purchase.

Best performance for a scanner anywhere near the price range

Wow. Great scanner. It was easy to install...the USB connection is simple and fast. The software is great. The OCR feature is amazing....very rarely an error. The software allows you to drag the scanned document onto an icon corresponding with the application you want the document imported into, and then it converts it accordingly. Very impressive! When scanning pictures and graphics, even at the lower resolutions, the quality is amazing. There is a a button on the scanner that when you press it, it brings up a menu asking what application you want to import the scan into. This scanner is very fast, usually taking 5 seconds on simple pictures. The speed doesn't decrease much at all when scanning at higher resolutions. The time to warm-up is only a few seconds. The price on this scanner is tough to beat, along with the quality. I am very impressed and couldn't be more pleased.

Epson Perfection 1200 USP is the best in it's price range!

My former scanner by Microtek was difficult to set up and did not work until I searched for hours in the documentation and on Microtek's web site and finally found a rather complicated answer. I still have to apply the "fix" to any computer I use the Microtek scanner with.

In contrast, the Epson Perfection 1200 USB Scanner was a breeze to set up. I just plugged the USB cable in with my computer already on, turned the scanner on and Windows 98 detected the scanner and the "Add Driver" wizard came up. Just point that to your CD drive to load the drivers and that's it.

The scanner is very fast and quiet. The twain interface is as good or better then any I've seen. The quality of the scans is top-notch across the board, from color to contrast to shadow depth.

I choose this scanner based on a ZdNet review of Epson's 636 USB scanner which won their editors choice award. They said it works especially well with Epson Color printers which I found to be the case too.

With a hardware resolution 1200 x 2400 dpi, the Epson Perfection 1200 USB scanner has higher optical resolution than any other scanner in it's price range. It's a real bargain.

Tips: Whatever graphics program you use, set up an ICM color profile. Or use the ICM profile of your monitor. Adobe Photoshop comes with a utility to do this. Then in the twain interface of your scanner click the "Use ICM" check box. Then your scans will look more like the originals when viewed on-screen. If you have an Epson printer (I have the Stylus Color 740), when you print choose the "Epson Stylus Color 740" profile from the "color space" list. If you have another printer it should show up in the list too. This info is for printing from Photoshop, but other graphics programs should be similar.

Scans printed from my Epson printer look almost identical to the original including color tone and depth.

I use this scanner primarily for professional web design and personal photograph reproduction.

Overall it's just a great scanner and I'm very happy with it.

Windows 2000 drivers actually work, scanner a beauty!

I needed a scanner that worked in Windows 2000, and decided to take a chance - based on other reviews posted here - with the Epson Perfection 1200U. The short of it is, the scanner worked right out of the box. Setup was easy, the Windows 2000 drivers I downloaded from Epson's web site installed without a glitch, and the software bundled with the scanner can't be beat. I was especially delight to find included the Presto PageManager, which is a kind of ACDSee thumbnail browser (with myriad other functions), and with it's Presto!Wrapper utility, which saves your image in a self-executing file to send to friends who might not have imaging software. Very cool.

The scanner is also the fastest I've owned, and the Twain software for scanning is multi-configurable for auto-sizing, exposing, et al of your image. Very very nice.

I'm very very pleased with this scanner, especially after I had bought an Acer 620U on the sole basis of its supposedly being Windows 2000 ready - only to find (to my horror and frustration) that the drivers for the Acer were bug-ridden and conflicted with my USB Iomega Zip Drive. I also had a Mustek 600II-CD, but had to give it the boot when Mustek said they weren't planning on supporting Windows 2000. So you can imagine my delight when the Epson Perfection 1200U not only worked right off the bat, but proved to be an unbeatlable value for the money considering the superior bundled software (Presto! PageManager, Adobe PhotoDeluxe, Broderbund Print Shop Press Writer, and ArcSoft's PhotoPrinter). Further, the scanner is fast, quiet, the quality of the image output is excellent, and there are other features I haven't even begun to explore. Easy and simple for home use, powerful and multi-layered enough for business use (I do both). An excellent product!

You'll pee in your pants if you switch to the Epson 1200 USB

I just upgraded from a Visioneer Paperport One Touch to the Epson 1200 USB and WOW - what a difference.

First the USB port is so much better than the parallel port off the printer - no more annoying waiting for connecting (also the reason I switched from the One Touch - I could no longer connect) to the scanner.

Second, the OCR actually works. Scan under OCR and then just drop it into the application you desire and presto, it is converted. And I'm talking converted. It converts different fonts, sizes, and bolds to the application so that the entire document can be manipulated.

For the extra $, the Epson is WELL worth it.

Great Product

After getting the newest drivers from D-Link's web site, installation went without a hitch. Only problem I had was somehow one of the NIC cards was set for no flow control and I thought I had a bad card. Also their cables was causing some packet loss, replaced with some good CAT5 cable and now I'm flying. Seems 1000 times faster than my old 3COM 3c503 10 MB NIC cards. Now only if my internet connection was as fast....

Excellent Product from D-Link!!

I bought this product on April 2001. Let me tell you that it only took 15 minutes to have my computers hooked together and my network running. The installation is very easy. The only lack is the additional software that comes with, which is already old (example: IE 4, Netscape 4, etc.). It's an issue which you really would have to leave out, since this programs can be downloaded free from the Internet. Anyway, D-Link has proven to be an excellent network products brand. I really haven't used Technical Support, since it has not given me any problems over the 8 months that I have had this product. If you compare this network in a box with other brands, you will find that this is cheaper.In conclusion, I really recommend "D-Link DFE-910 10/100 Network-In-A-Box " for the price, features, and what it gives you for a network.

Aiptek 2000T - Outstanding Product Value

I purchased this product so that distant grandparents in NY can see their new granddaughter. After researching and testing all of the vendors (Starview, Motion Media, Metaeye, Infoview and Aiptek) I purchased this product. It is extremely easy to use and my computer illiterate parents had no trouble getting this hooked up. Here is the scoop on picture quality: All of the competing products are going to display the video at about the same speed. Since a standard telephone line is used for 2-way communication with video, a 33.6Kbps modem is all that is needed. Don't get fooled by the marketing gimmicks of 56K modems since they can only transmit at this speed in one direction and this is too much bandwidth for a standard telephone line. Picture quality of a TV broadcast is around 30 frames per second (fps). All of the products I tested broadcast at 15fps maximum and this quality looks good and is very clear (I was surprised!!). I could easily see my parents and the delay was only very slight. The key with this is, if you use the smallest picture size the video will transfer very fast and you wont notice any delay. I use the middle size and it works fine. Although the screen is 4" in diameter, you really can see a lot. Of all of the products I tried, the AIPTEK was the easiest to use and again picture quality was great for all of these products. Cost for AIPTEK was lower than some of the other units.Bottom line: This product and concept is amazing and it makes my parents feel so much better when they can see their kids and grandkids 3000 miles away on the videophone versus just a phone call. I was a skeptic at first but now I am sold and will be buying more.!!!PS. After having used this product for several months the item that I did not note was that the AIPTEKs do not have external video jacks which would be used for hooking up external videocameras / vcrs ... I would never use this feature but if you are looking for remote video surveilence this probably is not the best choice. The meta-eye ..., televyou ... and the tele-eye are probably your best choice for this type of operation. I am still amazed that more people have not purchased these products - we are having a lot of fun talking with relatives.

Incredible--Perfect for Family and Older users --- Superb

Was skeptical at spending this much on a phone where I was not sure of the quality of the transmission. Other than a poor instruction booklet (basically plug in phone and go) this phone smashed my expectations.

Called friends all over world, and connection was great.

While computer cams are cheaper, we all know that there is no chance of having our relatives or Parents use them due to complexity. This phone offers the perfect solution, just plug it in.

Just ordered several more.

This phone is tops with me!

I was deployed for a year to Bosnia as a civilian contractor and I wanted a way to stay close with my wife and children. I bought two of these phones without knowing how they'd work over the terrible telephone lines in Bosnia. I'm happy to say it was the best thousand bucks I ever spent. It took me a time or two to connect sometimes but once we connected the video and sound quality rocked! The picture was very small (4 inches square), but after being deployed for a year, it was the best 4 inch picture I ever saw! It's a great phone!

I have had a pair of these for several months. I bought them after comparasion with several other slightly more expensive brands and am reasonably pleased. In this price bracket JBL have tended to be somewhat "bright" sounding, but I was pleasantly surprised by how warm these units sounded compared side by side with other products. The bass is tight and not overstated or "boxy" which is often a problem with cabinets this size, and the metalic tweeter is crisp and sounds wonderful on rock tracks although is a little harsh on classical strings. For the money I think these are excellent value and well worth serious consideration.

JBL Does It Again

These speakers rock. I've been listening thoroughly to the entire JBL line of speakers and these are the best value for the money by far. I was contemplating going with the Studio series line but the N28's sounded easily as good if not better. I use these speakers as fronts and the N24's as rears. The neighbors are not to pleased though. Apparently the bass is a little much for them.

These speakers rock!!!

I bought these speakers around June and have had them for about 5 months and after breaking them in...which didn't take long at all, these will boost whavter home theater system you have. I used them as my rears for my 5.1 system over the summer and you could hear every bullet wizzing by in the Matrix when Neo is shooting out of the hellicopter. Now in school my dorm room cant handle my full 5.1 system and ihave these as my fronts, and again, they rock. the bass is amazing. my whole floor can hear whatever i want to play...weather they like it or not. great speakers highly recomended
