Great helmet but not perfect.

This GT-Air is great if you're looking to step up to a serious helmet.Pros:1. Quiet. Shoei did a great job dampening a lot of outside noise without sacrificing airflow quality.2. Comfortable (Once broken in). For the first week of riding, about 30 mins into my rides, the cheekpads would cause a decent amount of discomfort. After the first week however this helmet fits great very comfortable and snug.3. Vents. The vents provide a lot of airflow and are extrememly easy to use with gloves.4. Pinlock Visor. I could write an entire review just on this feature alone. The anti-fogging ability of this visor is fantastic and very convenient. Also one tip if you buy this helmet you will need to install the pinlock visor. When they say you need to bend your GT-Air visor flat they literally mean flat.While the helmet is great I didn't give it a perfect score because there are a few features that are less than ideal.Cons:1. Cannot use with glasses. While the cheekpads have an opening to accomadate glasses. They sit far to high on your head and make use glasses impractical. Furthermore, while the pinlock system keeps your outer visor fog free, your glasses and sun visor will fog up quickly due to a lack of breath venting.2. Cheek pads (Before broken in). Very uncomfortable but this is due to the density of the foam they use. You can buy thinner pads if need be.Hope this was helpful.

Absolutely Amazing!

I have to say I've used a few different types of helmets, be it half face, modular, full face and by multiple companies...and this helmet is the best of the best. I rode to work yesterday marooning at a brisk 32 degrees, and it didn't fog a single time. The Pinlock anti-fog insert they provide is amazing! it darkens the window ever so slightly, and doesn't effect the vision at all. The fit is perfect amongst any other type of helmet shell, it goes on a bit tough but once its on, its like a Cadillac of helmets! The chin guard is nice for the cold mornings keeping updraft at a minimum! The only complaint I have with the product which is very minuscule. The material that the straps use to secure the helmet to your heat, irritates beard stubble if not shaved clean. I tend to let me beard get scraggly, so if your like me it will take some getting used to. The slide down sun shade is superb! definitely a nice addition! I had an HJC with a similar feature, however the shade on this helmet is built to much higher standards by my inspection, a lot more durable and much clearer view! the helmet is quiet on the high speed straights and keeps the general windy noises at bay with ease, nothing seems overly loud, yet still able to hear emergency vehicles and people around you quiet well. In general id say this is by far my personal favorite as far as any helmet I've used to date! very glad I purchased this helmet and would recommend anyone questioning the change from An HJC to DEFFINITELY do so with haste. If you are running an arai helmet, then the quality of build is near identical however the fit and comfort seem much more individual to me.
