very heavy duty dog fence wire

I've used higher gauge wire before and it was constantly breaking, so when I moved I wanted to start over with a better quality wire. Pros use 14 or 16 gauge and this is definitely pro quality. It's very heavy roll. In particular I liked the very thick outer coating on the wire which appears to be very strong and is bit hard to cut. My run included a pass across my driveway, so I bought a cheap 1/8" concrete blade for my circular saw (4 bucks at home depot) and made a 1/2" groove in the driveway, then I pushed the wire down with a screwdriver and rubber mallet (tight fit) and topped it off with black tube caulk for asphalt. It worked great. For the run back to the controller I used my drill to twist the wire and it worked well. The wire is thick and stiff enough to resist twisting, so I had to anchor it well on one side while twisting. I also ran a PVC pipe from the house exit straight down to underground to protect the wire from weed whackers and such. The result was perfect, the fence came right on and the signal is strong. The kit includes wire connectors for splices but I didn't have to use them. It came with 100 flags which are good quality but a few short to do a 1000 ft run. Definitely worth the cost.
