5Fabulous two-pack includes a very accurate reproduction!
By A Customer
Some reviews here doubt the accuracy of the repro G.I. Joe in this set. I held mine up to a vintage 1964 G.I. Joe today, and compared, part for part. While the skin tone is slightly different, that's normal. G.I. Joes came in various shades. The dogtags were impossible to tell apart, except for the age of the older ones had faded it a little.

I can't describe how wonderful it was to once again hold a 12" G.I. Joe, and feel the way the joints move, to twist it into various positions, and to just stare into those eyes again, and to try to use those silly fingers to no avail. I loved it!

As a child I once owned 11 original G.I. Joes, seven fuzz-heads, and four paints. This is a highly accurate replica.

This one comes with an M-1 rifle, bayonette that attaches, with scabbard, and helmet. Plus a belt holding four grenades, canteen in pouch, and ammo pouches. The boots seem thinner than the originals I used to own, but otherwise accurate.

As for the new Joe, he's just that. A new Joe. The gear is modern, very detailed and cool. The target sight flips up, the vest is padded, the boots soft, tough rubber, the computerized backpack has three cables which connect to various pieces of his gear.

The only thing I dislike about this toy is the whole direction of the new Joes. This new military and paramilitary look goes against my sentimental memories of Joe as Adventurer, Archaeologist, Astronaut. Plus he looks like Al Gore in camouflage.

But the original Joe is fabulous. If Hasbro decides to reproduce the Adventure Team fuzz-heads, man, I'M THERE!

Thanks, Hasbro, for a fine set.

5Lot's of fun with GI Joe
By A Customer
Once again Hasbro has put out a set that is great fun to play with and collect. Although it may not be that realistic in design but the entertainment factor is out of this world. This figure set comes at a price that is easy to afford and comes with enough accessories to keep anybody happy.

5Very nice, Affordable collectors set.
By A Customer
This is a very nicely done collectors set that is priced realistically for ALL collectors, young and old alike. The accuracy of the "then" figure leaves a little to be desired, more of a rendition than a replica. On the other hand, the "now" figure is great, with more state of the art weaponry than previously available with other Joes. This set is still a beautifully packaged set for the collector and an affordable "playable" set for those of us that want our kids to play with almost the same figure that we played with thirty years ago. It should be noted that a limited number of these sets come with a full size G.I. Joe thirtieth anniversary patch between the two figures. Now that's collectible!
