Expensive but more than worth it

Solid brass (all brass and nothing hollow). Replaced all the other doorknobs and locks in our house (inside and outside) eleven years ago; they all still work perfectly and look brand new...zero tarnish. Yes, costs much more than others, but it really does last forever, both in terms of looks and function. In the VERY rare case of something going wrong, Baldwin has a lifetime warranty.

This product is beautiful. heavy duty. not the eaisest to install. My client had ordered this very same product and we had the very same situation in the end. The little screws to attach the T-turn lever on very last were to short and he told me he had had that happen before. So he was fine with me leaving the project UNfinished while he had to go to Home Depot or somewhere to find the same finishing two screws to complete the project. Come on Baldwin. These screws could be made longer by far and would be no problem on any door. I am a locksmith for 14 yrs. now and that was just down right uncalled for. Not once but twice in this mans home. Same lock. Shame on you.

these things a very heavy, which is a good thing! they feel (and are) very solid, and are extremely well made. Comparing these to the junk Kwikset or Schlage's (chinese junk) that the big box stores sell is night and day. Those are all plastic, while these are all solid metal, with lots of brass parts. After switching over to Baldwin lock sets a few years ago, that's all I'll buy now. These are ANSI grade 1 versus the cheap ANSI grade 3 stuff HD sells - google the difference between that, and you'll know why you don't want the cheaper locks!
