5The best CD Walkman you can get
By Marcial Quintero
After the damage of my Sony D-E191 Discman, I come back to Sony for a replacement. After see all the new Discman models (now called CD Walkman), I decide to buy the D-EJ915. Maybe 200 bucks are too much, but this player it's a great value for the price. This CD portable player has big features (remote control with display, anti-skip technology, battery life and carrying case with hand strap). The sound it's good but I recommend you to buy a better headphones to improve the sound quality and bass response (I'm using right now a MDR-G72LP, Street Style by Sony). Still, the volume isn't enough and I can't use the double bass boost without distortion the sound. The remote control is great, letting you use all the CD Walkman functions without touch the unit. The bad notice: if you loose or damage the remote, you may not program, change bass level and the most important, you loose the display. In fact, the unit doesn't have display to reduce dimensions. Bad, isn't true?. The Backlit on the display it's great if you use a lot your CD Walkman at night. The player have a line-out/optical output for those MiniDisc or big sound systems fans. But maybe the big news about this Discman it's G-Protection. The music will not skip under every condition and let you walk, run, jog or ride on your bike like a cassette Walkman or MP3 Player. The battery life it's excellent giving me 20+ hours. The problem: the batteries need 4,5 hours to charge. If you are looking for a small player with large battery life and great anti-skip technology with acceptable sound and you're not worry to spend US$200, this is the CD player to you.

5CLEAN CUT REVIEW...
By Vince (firegods@psicorps.com)
Sony has once again kick the...out of the competition... this new cd player is not matched by any other from what i have seen... unfortunetly it lacks a few minor things...

PROS.. -STYLE... this thing is one hot looking cd player...its a nice mettalic silver with small sony logos....

-EXTREMLY THIN... take a cd case (regular size) and look at it for a while.. the player is ever so slightly thicker and is no where as near as wide as the cd case... ( about 3/4 inch smaller)

-AWESOME SOUND... sony, as usually never goes skimpy on the sound, but as usual, gips ya on the...ear buds... Amazons version comes with headphones (from what the pictures say...) but mine came with ear buds... the ear buds are pretty decent, but i went out and got a pair of sony streetstyles and they are also amazing. Decent bass.... with this player the bass is somewhat limited.. but you dont get that awful distortion you get with cheap cd players and...bass boost. The bass maintains its quality at full volume (dont go that high... hurts your ears)

WELL WIEGHTED... the player is deciving to people who only see it.. it looks flimsy and easily breakable...but it feels quite solid and isnt extremly light... but dont go and drop it. someone wrote that the player is bad cause he dropped it a few times... cd players and other portable equipment isnt tested to be dropped and treated badly....

BATTERIES.. small, hold 57 hours between em...rechargeable in like 5 odd hours, comes with this neat external power source (its a tube that holds two AA batteries and plugs into the adapter port)

G-PROTECTION-- amazing...and it doesnt take a toll on your batteries like the old antiskip technology did.

REMOTE... the remote is a good feature..all the controls (i mean all) are there in a fairly small unit.. nice backlite

CONS

REMOTE... though the remote has cd text reconition capibilities... dont be fooled... you need a mini disk player (theres like only 2-3 that will work) to hookup with the player and transfer the titles from its memory to the cd player.. the cd player will just not recognize the songs as soon as you pop it in....also the remote activates the back lite everytime you touch a control, this means the batteries drain slightly quicker than usual..

HEADPHONES...for the price i paid... i didnt expect to get the ear buds... but there half decent....

NO LCD ON CD PLAYER???... there is not lcd screen on the player... personally i dont care... i know to press forward 4 times to get to my fav song...the canned the lcd screen to make it smaller... which is well worth it...

CARRYING CASE...mine came with a silly cloth bag... i dont use it cause by the time you shove all the stuff into the bag its just as big as the regular size cd players! get you mom to stitch you up a nice one with some soft material to keep it scratch free....

BOTTOM LINE... if your looking for a new player.. and have a few extra bucks... this is a great cd player... it never runs low on batteries and comes with rechargeable ones, so there is no extra cost.. and yes.. it does play burnt cds....

5State of the Art
By A Customer
This is one incredible little cd player. The D-EJ915 is housed in a sleek, rugged aluminum case. All of the unit's functions can be accessed via a convenient backlit remote. It offers Sony's new G-Protection anti-skip system (very effective... I have not been able to make the player skip!) Two levels of bass extension. Excellent 23-hour battery life with the internal rechargeable batteries, increases to 57 hours with the included battery pack. The car adapter kit costs extra. One small gripe - there is no way to defeat the auto-resume play feature and start at the beginning of the cd. If you have the money, this is the one to buy!
